Maipe Malbec 2010 received 90 points from the Wine Advocate $13.99 for a 750 ml

The nose reveals dried plum and dark fruits, exotic spices, with hints of
violet and chocolate. Round and fleshy, with enticing crushed plum and
boysenberry fruit enlivened by a licorice snap note. Fresh acidity lies
buried on the medium-weight, juicy finish.

Critical acclaim:
"The 2010 Malbec Reserve spent 12 months in French oak. Cedar, Asian
spices, incense, cherry cola, and assorted black fruits set the stage for
a spicy, concentrated, layered Malbec that offers excellent value. Drink
it over the next 5-6 years. "

Casarena 505 Malbec - Argentina $9.99 for a 750 ml
winemaker's notes:
Bright intense red color with purple highlights. Seductive fruity nose with plum, Black cherry and redcurrants stand out with some notes of liquorices, which provides freshness. Sweet entrance in mouth, with soft tannis which provides it with its particular and embracing texture.

Critical acclaim:

"Bright medium ruby-red. Subtly complex aromas of dark berries, plum, lavender, pepper and flinty minerality. Seductively smooth in texture, with a restrained sweetness and good vinosity to the middle palate. Nicely rich, firmly structured malbec with broad, dusty tannins and very good length. And better than a first crop from new vines has any right to be."
